Neil and Robyn’s three secluded, spacious, up-market and fully equipped lodges (sleeps 8 each) nestles in private gardens on the farm Lowestoffe of 5 500 hectares in the unmatched beauty of the Happy Valley in the Elandsberg Mountains (7 700 ft) and only 10 km from Hogsback in the Eastern Cape.
Participate in endless walks (also to Bushman paintings), mountain biking, excellent birding, hiking, guided horse trails, tennis, night drives, log-fires, snow, picnics and much more. Lowestoffe is holistically managed cattle and sheep farm with beautiful grasslands and the Elandsberg Mountains forming the western border and the Klipplaat River the eastern boundary.
One of the main features of the farm is the attraction of trout fishing – with pools and five dams catering for all levels of fishermen. Four of the dams are fully stocked with rainbow trout, as has been the majority of the 17 km stretch of Klipplaat River, which also boasts yellowfish. The remaining dam has bass for all the bass enthusiasts. Lowestoffe is also home to the Africa Appaloosa Sport Horse Stud. Robyn breeds Appaloosa Sport Horses for all horse disciplines, concentrating on temperament, size and confirmation. The farm also offers special “touch farming” experiences for kids (be sure to be their during lamb and shearing season!) and various small game species such as blesbuck, wildebeest, mountain reed buck and fallow deer roam the farm.
